The kit includes two platforms for the body (H-Harness (HG-VS-MS) and Rhodesian Recon Vest (RRS-VS-MS) and two for the thigh (hard and soft).

There are four subcategories of equipment designed for soldiers of the army SF:

Individual - SFILCS (basic individual kit for the US SF soldier);
Team - SFTLCS (extended kit with equipment designed primarily for "team-serviced" weapons and grenade launchers);
Combat Service Support - CSSLCS (a kit designed for military personnel of the headquarters of special forces groups);
Psychological Ops / Civil Affairs - PCLCS (kit designed for fighters of groups / teams on psychological warfare and public relations).
