Each set has its own "narrow profile" focus. We will provide a description of the basic version of the kit (Individual), but also indicate additional names for each of the five options.

US Army and Navy Special Forces Equipment Sets
(SFLCS, RLCS and MLCS)

Stanislav "Tiderider"

Travel bag with MLCS set

A theme that has been "on the surface" for a long time, but has not been framed. Although the question itself is not so fresh (the programs were launched at the turn of 2004-2005) and many already have a very good independent idea of it, but, as it seems to me, we will be the first to "brush" the topic and offer readers in the form of a short reference book in order to remove some questions. Below I will give a list of a modern set of equipment supply for two branches of the SSPN - for the army and the navy. Those. in other words, we will talk about the official and standard set of equipment for fighters of SF groups, servicemen of the 75th "Ranger" regiment and fighters of the SEAL and SDV teams. I want to draw your attention to the fact that this list, although it is officially accepted for supply in the form of kits, does not take into account a large number of old-style equipment (which is still used) or additional elements from other programs / items for the US SSP (LVBAV, RBAV, MBSS, MBAV, SPEAR, etc.). That is, we will talk about the most massive and significant program at the moment, but many samples of equipment will remain out of sight.

Separately, at the very beginning, I would like to say about two platforms that ARE NOT part of SOFLCS, but many associate with this set due to their mass and standard compatibility, namely the RBAV assault vest and the MBAV Plate Carrier.

BALCS-R SPEAR (MAR-CIRAS Eagle Ind.)

MBAV (Eagle Ind.)

The first - assault vest - is a quick-release body armor (the official full name is BALCS-R SPEAR or RBAV BALCS SPEAR), made to the standards set for body armor with a quick release option by the BALCS-R SPEAR program. In addition to the SAPI / E-SAPI plates of the SPEAR standard, it also accommodates "soft" Kevlar armor of the SPEAR profile. This vest is based on MAR-CIRAS from Eagle Ind. But in the process of phased replacement of the entire SOFLCS set with items from another manufacturer (ECLiPSE from BAE), the vest will also be changed (to RBAV SF from BAE).

The second (MBAV - Modular Body Armor Vest) is a modernized plate carry with a belt. It is also a separate item supplied to the SF and Rangers of the US Army, but is not part of any dedicated program, being a product of Eagle Ind. one of a kind. A similar analogue in the fleet (for the US Navy SSPN) - plate carrier MPCV (Molle Plate Carrier Vest) - LBT 6094 from London Bridge Trading Comp ..

How is it upgraded compared to standard plate carry? First of all, it is the sewn-in "soft" M97A1 armor in the chest and back, as well as the ability to place hinged pockets for Kevlar or 6x6 or 6x8 plates on the sidewalls of the belt. The set includes shoulder cushions. But, unlike the BALCS-R vests, it is deprived of the possibility of quick release

SOFLCS

SOFLCS - Special Operitions Forces Load Carriage System (System for carrying equipment and ammunition for special forces), as noted above, is an integral part of the equipment of the US Special Forces soldier. There are five options (the first three will be discussed in this review) and one additional set:

- SFLCS for US Army SF groups;

- RLCS for soldiers of the 75th regiment;

- MLCS for SEAL, SDV and SWCC fighters;

- AFLCS for soldiers of special air force units;

- MCLCS (also formerly known as FSBE II, but revised due to "personnel" reshuffle in the Marine Corps special forces theme) for MARSOC fighters,

- and a set of additional protection MSAPLCS: protection of the shoulders, groin; additional belly and back protection and a Cummerbund for MBAV / MSAP belt, which replaces the standard MBAV belt in order to be able to strengthen the groin protection.

All kits can be supplied in two colors: Khaki (or, more accurately, MJK) mainly for US Special Forces and SEAL / SDV fighters; and in the so-called "Ranger Green" (Ranger Green) for the soldiers of the 75th Ranger Regiment and partly - SWCC. Previously, the MLCS was supplied in the color OD (olive) for the SWCC, but this color has now been retired. So far, we cannot confirm that the kits have started in the US SOF approved AOR1 and 2 colors, nor can we confirm that the kits were shipped in the Cartoons for the Air Force. No such facts were noted; the manufacturer did not confirm this information.

MLCS - Maritime Load Carriage System

In conclusion, I would like to name the kits that are supplied to other branches of the US SOF:

The Air Force has the following AFLCS options:

- AFTLCS - Special Tactical Squadron. Kit for TAC-P fighters;
- AFSLCS - Support. For the headquarters elements of the Air Force special forces;
- AFPLCS - Pararescue Jumper. For Pararescue units.

The kits are largely identical to the first two and contain the same platforms and most of the pouches.

In the United States Marine Corps, several options for the MCLCS kit are also provided for special forces battalions:

- MCILCS - Individual. The individual kit is in many ways similar to the one for the rangers.
- MCPLCS - Platoon. An extended kit that takes into account the platoon's heavy weapons.
