LBT is a “Commercial-Off-The-Shelf” (“COTS”) manufacturer which basically means that products are available to everyone.To serve many foreign and non-government customers, LBT developed a manufacturing partnership in Peru that shares our commitment to being among the premier tactical gear manufacturers in the world.
Whether merely components or the finished product, foreign partners manufacture to our standards of quality, adhering to LBT designs and using primarily U.S. made materials. LBT is mentioned in the same sentence as other premier COTS manufacturers like Crye Precision, Eagle, First Spear, Force Protector, Mystery Ranch, Propper, Crye Precision, Tyr Tactical, and T3 Gear.

London Bridge Trading Company, Ltd. (LBT) had it's beginnings in the fall of 1985, when Doug McDougal, Ph.D., President and CEO, was displaying some of his military surplus wares at a gun show. On the table were some pouches that Doug had made for resale. When asked by a colonel with the United States Marine Corps if he could make some shot-shell pouches for his FAST company, Doug said "YES", and he had his first large military contract.
From its humble beginnings, with one seamstress sewing in a small office warehouse, LBT has grown to become one of the premier load system design and production manufacturers in the industry. LBT has grown to over 80 employees. LBT specializes in: load bearing, air drop, EOD, tactical and medical gear for military forces, law enforcement, United States government agencies and other organizations around the world. London Bridge Trading also manufactures exclusive products for several prime military contractors. The company designs and manufactures such diverse products as backpacks (over 150 designs), pouches (over 250 designs), vests (over 100 designs), belts, holsters (over 25 designs), bags (over 60 designs). There is very little beyond the design and manufacturing capabilities of this company. LBT is currently headquartered in Virginia Beach, Virginia, in a 20,000 square foot facility that doubles for a manufacturing facility and a retail outlet.
The company's motto, "When Quality Counts . . ." is more than a phrase - it defines the very core of its commitment to all of its customers, wherever they may be.
Doug McDougal received his Ph.D., in neuroanatomy, from the University of California (at Davis) in 1973. He is a former associate professor for the Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. He served with the United States Air Force, in Viet Nam, as an officer.

We are proud to specialize in load bearing, air drop, EOD, medical and tactical nylon gear for military forces, law enforcement, United States government agencies and other organizations around the world. We also manufacture exclusive products for several prime military contractors and design and manufacture such diverse products as backpacks, pouches, vests, belts, holsters and bags. There is very little beyond the design and manufacturing capabilities of this company. Our headquarters is centrally located in the city of Virginia Beach, Virginia, in a 30,000 square foot manufacturing facility that doubles as a retail outlet; we have a secondary manufacturing facility nearby outfitted primarily for the production of waterproof backpacks and bags. Mid-year 2006 we will be consolidating into a single 70,000 square foot site designed expressly for the manufacturing requirements of our extensive product line.
