Once upon a time......
There I was on exercise. I'm detailed to carry a radio, in the middle of trying to arrange a seemingly meaningless array of straps and buckles, when I thought "I could design something better than this!", so I did. However, the first time I used it, the RSM demanded I sell (donate) it to him.
Several weeks later and I am wearing 'Mark 2', the same sort of thing happens.
So, I thought, 'hang on a minute, there's a market here!'
That, simplistically is how Vanguard was born.
Under the Wyvern (pronounced Y-verne) brand name, Vanguard have been producing personal load carrying equipment and tactical gear since 1990. Our all-arms load vest, first used during Operation Desert Storm in 1991 and since copied or imitated by just about everyone, has become the benchmark against which combat vests are measured.
Our twin motto's 'Quality, not Compromise' and 'End User Designed', mean that the item you purchase has been rigorously field tested and feedback incorporated, before it has been endorsed for your use.
All of the components we use in the manufacturing process are of at least British M.O.D. specification. If it's not good enough for them, it's not good enough for us.
We are now able to offer a full range of load carrying and tactical gear options in several camouflage patterns. From a pouch for your maglite to a fully integrated assault system for specialist units.
In addition, we also offer the retailer/PRI shop a comprehensive range of combat accessories, survival items and insignia.
