US Army ECW Arctic Sleeping Bag
NSN 8465-01-033-8057 DLA 100-83-C-4174
This is a fantastic old school US army Extreme Cold Weather (ECW) arctic sleeping bag in very good used condition. Made by renowned cold-weather sleeping bag manufacturer, Tennier Industries Inc, this bag is filled with genuine down and has a temperature rating of -20C.
This bag is similar in design to the M-1949 Extreme Cold Weather (ECW) mountain bag, a design which was so good it remained relatively unchanged until lighter insulating and structural materials came on the scene in the late 90’s
The bag has a moisture-resistant and windproof outer with a great, pure cotton inner lining. The dimensions of the sleeping bag are hard to measure since it is soft and the width varies. The bags are approximately 85 inches long x 35 inches wide at the shoulders, suitable for someone up to about 6 foot 2 inches tall. When rolled up and tied, the bag measures approximately 21 inches long x 12 inches in diameter and the weight is approx. 10.5lbs. There is an adjustable draw string hood and the main zip is almost full length, stopping approx 6ins from the foot of the bag. There is also a cold weather baffle above the zip for further insulation which can be secured with press studs.
This is a fantastic cold weather sleeping bag, not often available now. It is a brilliant buy for a vehicle user as the bag is quite bulky, but all that bulk is mainly insulating feather down. Superb value for the money
