In the late 90's had so SnigelDesign commissioned by FMV to develop a Innovative combat vest for Defence Forces. It was decided that it would be a vest and a separate belt, breast pockets would be large so that the empty magazine could put in them and that the pockets would be compatible with the pockets of combat belt 304K.
Once this was clear, it was like a tender won by a Swedish company. Unfortunately manufactured pockets with enough seam allowance on the straps, and this meant that the pockets hang loose. Despite this the vest is Used today by Swedish soldiers, both in Sweden and abroad. It has even been delivered to other countries and is used today, for example in Greece.

Battle Vest 2000 is the long-awaited replacement for Battle Belt 304K (Stridsbälte 304/k) (which in turn replaced the battle harness). The vest gives the soldier a much better opportunity to bring the right equipment in relation to his task. All pockets are loose and can be placed on the vest or belt where the soldier himself feels he can best use it. They have thus departed from the principle of uniformity to instead see that the task is solved, for the soldier, in the fastest and most flexible way, which is a completely new way of thinking within FM. Pockets can also be attached to combat bag 2000 and to Body Protection 94.
Combat vest 2000 consists of several loose parts that together make up the combat vest itself; vest, belt and several different pockets. The vest is very robust and even manages to lift the wearer in the pockets. The pockets are fastened in loops on the vest and the belt using double Velcro closures that attach well.
Old and new equipment will gradually be adapted to be worn on the combat vest, such as a protective mask bag, holder for a water bottle, etc.

Care
The vest is wiped with a damp cloth or brushed dry. Clay stains, etc. can be washed off with lukewarm water and possibly a little soap. Oil, white spirit, T-red or other solvents must not be used.

The combat vest
"One Size Fits all" and can be adjusted on both sides. In the edges of the opening at the front there are inner pockets on each side to store eg notebooks, maps, signal pistol / pistol, empty magazines, etc. Around the upper part of the opening around the neck there are loops on both sides intended for attaching hose from liquid systems.
the shaft sections are rubberized so that the piston on the rifle / carbine does not slip off during construction. On the back there is a handle in which you can lift / drag a wounded comrade. In the back there is also a bellows cavity in the mesh fabric in which you can put in a liquid system. Fluid systems are under development. Under the armpits there is a button on each side to attach a knife.
Belt
The belt is padded and pockets can also be attached to it. The vest and belt are adjusted so that the correct size / height is achieved. This distance may need to be adjusted when you intend to carry a Backpack 2000 (100l) or other large backpack with a carrying belt.
The belt is available in four sizes, S, M, L, XL. It should be borne in mind that it should be appropriate to wear the belt both with and without body protection with as small size changes as possible. 2 small carabiners made of steel are included with the belt in which you e.g. can attach Helmet 90.
Magazine pocket
Normally you are given 2 magazine pockets, each of which holds 3 Ak 5 magazines or 2 Ak 4 magazines. There is an elastic band in the pocket so that a single magazine does not lie and hit in the pocket. On the outside there is also an elastic band with a lock so that you can tighten the pocket so the magazines do not rattle. The lid has an elastic locking strap that can be attached with a hook and 2 push buttons.
Duel pocket
The pocket is designed to quickly make an Ak 5 magazine easily accessible. The pocket is advantageously mounted on a shaft up and down. You can of course turn the pocket over and store other things in it, for example, pencils, compass, etc. Normally you are assigned 1 Duell pocket
Multi-purpose pocket Large
A large bag in which there is an elastic net. In the pocket you can store eg: medical equipment, hunting kitchen, weapon care equipment, earmuffs, gloves, Cassettes for Ksp, etc. Normally you are allocated 2 pcs Multi-purpose pocket Large
Multi-purpose pocket Small
A large larger variant of the Magazine Pocket intended for all kinds of material. Holds 3 Ak 5 magazines, even hand grenades can be put in this pocket. Personally, I have everything I previously had in the chest pockets on Field Jacket 90 in it. 72 Liters Duffle Bag
Carrying system 2000 also includes a larger 72 liter bärsäck in which the soldier brings the most out of their personal belongings in the field.
