London Bridge LBT-1872 Prototype Biometric Medical Backpack

This is a prototype pack used for some sort of biometric gear. Not sure what type of unit or government agency would have used this. Its a modified LBT-1872 bomb tech pack. This pack has a large removable clear window pouch and multiple pockets. Bag is rigid and shoulder straps can be tucked-away if not needed. Good bag for the range or as a go-bag for your truck.

This is an original prototype London Bridge Trading bag. This came from the collection of Mr. Doug McDougal, the owner of LBT. These items were being cleared out since most of the designs are out of production or have been succeeded by newer versions. Most of the items have paper or plastic tags attached to them and can always be removed. Some items have the model numbers stenciled in paint marker or grease pencil on the item.

LBT-0996A Backpack EOD Tactical

London Bridge LBT-0996 Tactical EOD Backpack Explosive Ordnance Bag

London Bridge LBT-0996 Tactical EOD Backpack in OD Green. We're not 100% sure about the part number designation, but given the build of the bag we're assuming this is a bag in that series. The bag is built around carrying an included tool roll, which can be removed and laid out for rapid access to the items contained within. In our experience, this is either EOD equipment or medical equipment, and this item says EOD to us.

The buckles on this pack are dated 1999.Front zippered pouch measures 9x7" flat, not gusseted. Left side of bag has velcro straps running vertically along the side for securing items. Right side of bag has long pouch running verticall along the side for charges. 6x buckles on outside of the pack to cinch down contents. Buckles inside pack to secure tool roll in place. Pack has stay with aluminum reinforcements for heavy weight.

LBT-1646 Backpack Tool Manual Entry NO Frame

London Bridge old gen gold label tool back pack. Does not appear to have been used. There is a small spot on the front. It may clean off but not distracting. It looks like there may have been a waist strap on it at one point. See photo of back of bag.

London Bridge Trading Field Pack Large with Internal Frame LBT-1477B

LBT-1477B Large Backpack with Frame (modified Coleman), Vol 5500 cu. in.
LBT-1936 Recon Backpack, for use with LBTW-1477B (or any other pack with adapter kit)

Thanks to : Ovinnovations in Battle or aField

Overview

The LBT-1477B was London Bridge Trading's take on the notorious CFP-90 pack (properly known as the Field Pack, Large, with Internal Frame, or FPLIF). Developed during the 1990s and available for sale until early 2001, the LBT-1477B was an improvement on the CFP-90 design. The 1477B added individual buckle closures to its side pocket flaps, instead of using compression straps to secure these flaps a la the CFP-90. A center front pocket was added in place of ALICE webbing, and the entire pack was built out of 1000D Cordura nylon instead of packcloth. The 1477B was available in black or olive drab as standard, though LBT offered an assortment of different colors by special order.

LBTW-1936: Recon Backpack, for use with LBTW-1477B (or any other pack with adapter kit)

Author's note: The LBT-1477B was labeled as the LBTW-1477B on the LBT website. At that time, all LBT style numbers carried the "LBTW" moniker, at least on their website.

Whereas the CFP-90 featured an aluminum internal frame, the LBT-1477B utilized a plastic external frame, which was the 27" compact variant of the Coleman Peak 1 RAM-FLX frame. It's particularly interesting to see this frame in use on a military ruck of this era, as the pack may have preceeded the similarly plastic-framed MOLLE pack, which was first adopted in 1997. The Coleman Peak 1 frame is still popular among some in the outdoor/survival community, as it was found that the frame will readily accept the MOLLE II rucksack shoulder straps and waistbelt. The final year the 1477B was available, it was sold with their ALICE frame assembly (LBT-2027) instead, possibly due to the lack of availability of the Peak 1 frame.

A Recon Backpack, the LBT-1936, was modeled after the CFP-90 patrol pack and could be attached to the top of the 1477B. This pack was originally called the LBT-1477C, with the style number being changed a couple years before it was discontinued. A Japanese distributor for LBT, Aggressor Group, lists the style numbers and descriptions on a 2001 price sheet as follows:

LBT-1477A: BACK PACK,LARGE (6500 CU/IN) FRAME WITH RECON PACK

LBT-1477B: BACK PACK,LARGE (6500C/inch) FRAME WITHOUT RECON PACK
LBT-1477C: BACK PACK,RECON FOR LBT-1477B

Though the capacity for 1477B is listed as 5500 cu-in on the LBT website and 6500 cu-in from their distributor, it's likely that the 1477B is 5500 cu-in and that the recon pack is around 1000 cu-in, as this would be in line with the capacity of the CFP-90 and its patrol pack.

LBT-1562A Medical Air Force (PJ) Jumpable Backpack

The London Bridge Tactical Field Care Pack was designed originally in 1995 for the U.S. Air Force's elite Pararescue Jumpers (PJs). This pack allows the PJ to conduct airborne operations with all necessary medical supplies and with limited advanced life support (ALS) supplies.

The main compartment of the pack itself has one large (9" x 13" x 2") zippered compartment with a smaller mesh pocket. There are also six mesh pockets, with elastic draws, for storing bandages, dressings, etc.

A large mesh compartment on the back allows the medic to carry a set of MAST (military anti-shock trousers). Main compartment zipper security is provided through the use of six cinch straps with side-release buckles.

Also included are three cinch straps for securing bulky items. The Parachute harness attachment straps can be easily stowed in small side pockets when not needed. There is also a pocket along the inside of the pack to provide for using a hydration bladder. The pack is constructed using 1000 denier Dupont© Cordura© nylon.

I believe is a very early London Bridge Trading Medic Backpack. The pack has LBT's older Silver Label (picture 3) and the Fastex clips are dated 1995.

The pack has 2 external zippered pockets, a large main compartment with several mesh pockets and small zippered compartment, a zippered mesh back panel, padded shoulder straps, vinyl identification window, multiple drain grommets, drag handle, and a hydration bladder compartment and tube outlet.

There is a hole in the top external pocket (picture 1) and the pack is missing 2 male Fastex clips (pictures 2 and 7).

Old School London Bridge LBT-1562A Air Force PJ Jumpable Medical Backpack. Color is the old Sand Tan. This is a very old and rare piece, it is mentioned all the way back in the 1994 LBT Catalog. The tag is an old green text label variant and has the later style website and phone number, meaning this item is probably from the early 2000's. See pictures for more information. This pack was brought in by a local SEAL and is in Excellent condition. Really have not seen one better outside of new. The only thing that makes this not brand new is a single ink stain on the inside of the pack, on the mesh of one of the zippered pouches. This can be seen clearly in the pictures. It is only on the mesh and did not damage anything other then cosmetically. See the pictures for best details. Great piece of old school kit!
