The Infrared Retroreflective (IR) Flag is an attachable patch that enables the identification of friendly forces. The flag becomes visible in dark environments when observed with near-infrared vision systems, such as Night Vision Goggles (NVGs) and near-infrared illuminators.The IR Flag, which is 3.5 inches long by 2 inches wide, attaches to military uniforms with hook fastener tape.

The infrared shoulder flags, insignia or patches are attached by Velcro on helmets or on shoulders.
The army identifier velcro patch allows an Identification Friend or Foe.
The flag reacts solely in reflecting to a source of infrared light. Available as:
gloss version (visible up to 600m) and mat version (visible up to 200m)

The Infrared Retroreflective (IR) Flag is an attachable patch that enables the identification of friendly forces. The flag becomes visible in dark environments when observed with near-infrared vision systems, such as Night Vision Goggles (NVGs) and near-infrared illuminators. The IR Flag is made of micro-prismatic, retroreflective black polymeric film contrasted with opaque desert sand stars and stripes. The IR Flag, which is 3.5 inches long by 2 inches wide, attaches to military uniforms with hook fastener tape.

New IR Australian Flag Patches that provide fast identification during the day and IR reflective properties during night operations. NATO/AUS issue Infrared (IR) reflective flags printed on honeycomb reflective material.
