Dutch Royal Army Canteen Cover 80s / First Type

COVER,WATER CANTEEN
NSN : 8465-17-052-9696

From the blog “Mess Kits and Canteens”:

In the 1980s, the Koninklijke Landmacht began to issue rubberized web gear. With the Cold War in full swing, the rubberized web gear could be decontaminated in the event of a chemical attack. Decon would be nearly impossible with canvas webbing. The soldiers referred to this equipment as “Playmobil,” after the famous line of children’s toys.

WW2 U.S. Marine Corps 2nd Pattern Canteen Cup Cover Set

2nd Pattern USMC covers were made between the years 1941-1942, and were issued directly to marines serving in the pacific theater during WW2. As with most 2nd pattern covers, most of the depot markings have worn off, but the cover still has the soldier's name stamped on the bottom.
The canteen is marked: U.S. S.M. Co. 1944, and the canteen cup is marked: U.S. Foley Mfg. Co. 1944.

WW2 3rd Pattern USMC Canteen Cover, Cup, Canteen

An excellent example of a WW2  Marine Corps 3rd Pattern canteen cover, and included in this set are the canteen and canteen cup! This canteen cover is the 3rd pattern, early war USMC designed cover. It features a belt hook placed midway up on the cover, lift the dot style snaps on the sides, and the dog ear flap design on the front. The cover is in great shape, with the snaps working fine, no tears or holes, and the web belt wire is great, with no bends or breaks. Both are marked from WW2, the cup is marked: U.S. T.A.C.O. Co. 1945, and the canteen is marked: U.S. Vollrath 1944.

CSM Gear Double 1Qt Canteen Pouch, Multicam

CSM Gear Double 1Qt Canteen Pouch, Multicam

This is a unique canteen pouch made by CSM gear. It is a single pouch that will hold two 1 quart canteens. Attaches to belt or vest with either ALICE clips or MALICE clips. Retention is through a 550 cord draw string plus a retention strap that uses a fastex buckle. Mesh bottom for quick water drainage. Carrying multiple canteens offers a few benefits over a single camelback or a single 2qt canteen. The hard plastic canteens are harder to damage, so less likely to tear. Also if one canteen gets contaminated with bad water you still have another water source. Not so with a single bladder.
