Year 2000
Military Products
Since the U.S. Armed Forces adopted the Bianchi M12 in 1984, Bianchi has been the clear leader in ballistic weave nylon for the military. While jungle humidity, sub-zero arctic cold and relentless desert sun all take their toll on even the finest gun leather, Bianchi military nylon holsters, belts and accessories prevail, impervious to the elements and the grinding abuse of the battlefield.
Our UM84/M12 is made from a combination of tough, lightweight materials, including our non-absorbent, closed-cell poly-foam core with a laminated ballistic weave nylon outer surface for protection and water resistance. Perma-Fit construction molds the holster's interior to the shape of the gun it carries.
About Us
BIANCHI INTERNATIONAL
THE WORLD STANDARD FOR QUALITY AND INNOVATION
Bianchi International is recognized by shooting enthusiasts worldwide as the largest, leading designer and manufacturer of the most innovative and highest quality handgun holsters and accessories. Bianchi began four decades ago with one off-duty police officer and a nineteenth century sewing machine. Today a wide range of increasingly diversified and unique Bianchi holsters and accessories are available through authorized dealers and distributors worldwide. Now as then, the Bianchi vision and commitment to innovative product design and crafting with the utmost care from the finest materials, continue to set new standards in the industry.
Bianchi’s many patented innovations have aggressively and consistently set the pace in holster technology. The widely used thumb snap feature, included on the original Bianchi Model 5B/5BHL as well as Models 19/19L and Model 19L-2, was first innovated by Bianchi in 1960, and has revolutionized holster designs ever since. For law enforcement professionals the world over, Bianchi is the brand of choice for confident performance, reliability and function. One of the early Bianchi patented innovations for law enforcement was the Model 27 “Break Front” holster. Introduced in 1970, the completely superior front opening holster allowed a rapid draw with fluid forward motion, yet its unique design helped to secure the officer’s gun against forced removal by an assailant.
In continuing to address the critical issue of handgun retention for law enforcement professionals, Bianchi developed the revolutionary Pinch Retention Device™ (PRD). Bianchi’s most recent innovation for law enforcement in 1997 was the new, patent pending Slide•Lok™, (SLR™) for excellent, dependable retention. Designed to work with a conventional, straight up draw, Slide•Lok™ Retention allows the user to employ standard draw techniques, and represents Bianchi’s ever-vigilant design concern for smooth and instinctive accessibility.
Americas involvement in Southeast Asia in the 1960’s produced the dire requirement for a “civilian advisors” holster capable of comfortably concealing a large frame pistol or revolver. In response, Bianchi innovated the revolutionary Model X15® Shoulder Holster, one of the most copied shoulder holster designs even today. The popularity of the X15® set the stage for Bianchi innovation in concealed carry design. The broad line of truly innovative, Bianchi concealment holsters now leads the industry in comfort, function and professional styling.
“There is leather, and then there is Bianchi Leather.” As the phrase implies, Bianchi’s heritage and tradition in leather holsters and accessories are unsurpassed. Bianchi uses only the highest quality, premium grade, full grain, US cowhide, specially tanned and cured to Bianchi specifications. Bianchi leather holsters are wet molded around an actual firearm casting and then hand boned for the distinctive appearance for which Bianchi holsters are renowned. Lock stitching provides long lasting performance and the many additional steps in the process ensure a smooth, slick draw, and outstanding finish. Bianchi’s closely detailed leather handwork, craftsmanship and quality assurance are unparalleled.
While Bianchi’s reputation for exceptional leather products prevails, Bianchi’s history also includes revolutionary holster design in ballistic weave nylon and other high-performance man-made materials. Privately researched and independently developed by Bianchi, and adopted by the US Armed Forces in 1984, the Bianchi M12 was the first new armed forces holster in nearly 70 years. Since then Bianchi has been the certain leader for the military with holsters, belts and accessories impervious to jungle humidity, sub-zero arctic cold, relentless desert sun, and the grinding abuse of the battlefield.
Bianchi’s expertise with ballistic weave nylon was meanwhile incorporated in non-military, Bianchi holsters and accessories for lightweight, weather-proof, virtually indestructible use. This innovation significantly influenced the entire holster industry. Then, making a quantum leap in the field of nylon holster and accessory technology, Bianchi introduced AccuMold™ holsters and accessories. AccuMold® is an exclusive Bianchi technology and patented process of contour molding their ballistic weave gear. AccuMold® holsters and accessories are formed to retain their contents with far more protection and less bulk than conventional ballistic fabric designs, and are engineered to stay open and accessible when empty. The extensive line of durable Bianchi AccuMold products now includes a wide variety of concealment, sporting, and duty holsters and accessories.
Competitive sponsorship exemplifies Bianchi International’s commitment to supporting shooters and the shooting sports. Founded in 1979 by John Bianchi with the intent of promoting the shooting sports on a more mainstream level, the Bianchi International Pistol Tournament has become the NRA Bianchi Cup Championship. Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 1998, the NRA Bianchi Cup represents the highest achievement in competitive handgun shooting and draws one of the largest shooting sports event crowds. Bianchi also demonstrates its commitment to quality and innovation in the shooting sports with the Bianchi patented Hemisphere Competition Shooting System. The Model H2045 Hemsiphere provides a stable platform for holster and gun, a necessity for speed and accuracy, and out-performs every other competition holster in adjustability and consistency of draw. Team Bianchi competitors have won over two dozen major national and regional championships, including the USPSA Open Nationals, USPSA Limited Nationals, NRA Bianchi Cup, and the European Bianchi Cup, since the holster’s introduction in late 1994.
Just as sport shooting competition provides valuable insights for Bianchi’s holster development programs, the needs of serious hunters worldwide have influenced Bianchi’s innovative field holster designs. Shooting Times Editor Dick Metcalf lent his expert guidance to the development of Bianchi’s HuSH - Hunting Shoulder Holster. Bianchi innovation extends to the design of this ultimate field holster rig for handgun hunters incorporating backpack load-bearing technology. Abrasion and water resistant, the cross chest design allows complete freedom of arm motion.
Further acknowledging and responding to the demanding field requirements of serious hunters worldwide, Bianchi introduced the Bianchi Outdoors brand of hunting packs in 1998. Engineered for pure function, Bianchi Outdoors packs offer exceptional carrying comfort and highly effective load distribution. The full line of day packs, fanny packs, gear bags and accessories, features specific design elements required by hunters. Becoming more widely known is that Bianchi, under the company’s Gregory Mountain Products brand, has been manufacturing the world’s most technologically advanced backpacking gear for over 20 years.
Bianchi International is an ever-evolving line of holsters, backpacks and related accessories for the specialized needs of law enforcement, personal protection and safety, and for military, tactical, competition, hunting and sporting applications worldwide. The Bianchi vision and commitment to innovative, technologically advanced, product design and qualitycraftsmanship with the finest materials, continue to lead the advances in the industry.
