US Military Vietnam Era Canteen w/ Pouch - 1964




This is a US Military plastic canteen from the Vietnam War era. It has the date 1964 on the bottom. It comes with an insulated pouch that has a metal hanger on it to hang on a belt. The canteen itself also has a metal piece that allows it to be hung on a belt or bag.

    Happened upon this listing and thought I'd add my two cents. The canteen is most definitely US issue; the cap, probably not. The metal handle is most definitely a civilian gizmo for camping purposes. The fabric carrier is most DEFINITELY not military issue, it is one of many from Taiwan or Japan made for the US camping market.
    Finally, "babel" is Hebrew but the root letters are "BVL"; coincidentally the Tower of Babel in Hebrew is "meegdal Bavel".
