Description
Dixie : 2 Square aluminium "plates", "mess tins" which were kept in your webbing and which were used to eat out of. They fitted inside each other and with the firebucket and pikstel formed your eating kit when in the bush or border.
Physical Description
Similar pattern to British, 2 piece 8cm x 13cm x 18cm (3"x5"x7") retangular aluminium with "wire" handles. One fits inside other. Fits in Pattern 70 kidney pouch or back of Pattern 83 ammunition vest.
