Patagonia's Dimension has a stretch-woven fabric providing unmatched durability for climbing in tough conditions or skiing narrow chutes. It resists water & blocks wind. Inside, the bonded polyester knit mesh adds warmth & speeds wicking. An offset front zipper won't bunch up under a layering system, & torso pockets actually stay open when you need to ventilate. Other features: easy-gliding, water-repellent zippers; hood/hem drawcords that adjust from the inside front pocket; a helmet-compatible, three-way Optipull hood, and anatomically contoured, light-and-supple, perforated hook-and-loop wrist closures. This is a full featured soft shell jacket. It is a thicker "doby weave," more robust than the Slingshot Jacket. This jacket has a hood that is huge. Most "technical" jackets have large hoods that cover climbing helmets worn with hats. You have to use the shock corded hood take-up strings to keep the hood in its place keeping your vision clear. It has a hood roll-up strap, chest mounted hand warmer pockets, one interior pocket, extended rear hem line, and Velcro cuffs. This is a thicker warmer soft shell jacket.New, exclusive fabric features a stretch woven face bonded to a denier-gradient polyester knit mesh for warmth and wicking performance Deluge DWR water-repellent zippers 3-way, fully adjustable hood fits over a helmet, can be rolled down and secured; New internal casing allows clean, non-hanging drawcord hood adjustment; Hood drawcords, for hem and face, adjust from inside the torso pocket Front zipper is slightly offset at the chin Internal zippered mesh pocket Gathered elastic on sides allows trim torso fit and keeps the two mesh-lined torso pockets open for ventilation when unzipped Wrists adjust via perforated, anatomically contoured hook-and-loop closures 100% polyester

Another says, " I first encountered the Dimension Jacket when it was first issued. I fell in love with it and bought my own! It is built to be roomy, fit's over layers and gear. It moves easily with the body and is very breathable. In mist and light rain it keeps you dry and dries out fast. In a heavy rain you'll get wet but walk dry remarkably fast. I've worn My dimension jacket in weather from -20 to 60 deg and up to 16000 ft. It has become my "go to" shell. My only regret is they don't make it anymore!
