Kifaru Navigator Generation 1 in OD Green (multi-mission patrol pack). The pack has internal 22" aluminum stays and pals belt (approx 32"-38" waist). Loaded front and back with PALS, full zipper front, all molle compatable pouches/pockets will work with this pack.

 

 

This is a serious multi-mission patrol pack that is easily capable of carrying a week's worth of gear, yet still has a narrow, stealthy design. The interior is loaded with PALS front to back, full length. A Kifaru first!

The suspension is amazingly low profile, yet the most comfortable ever offered on a military pack of any size with ANY weight load - exceeded only by our own Duplex Suspensions. Deceptively thin, it is anatomically contoured to eliminate hot spots and spread weight over a large portion of your pelvic area - where you are designed to carry weight. Don't let it fool you - massive padding is NOT necessary to handle large loads.

Construction:
Thin foam encased with 1000d Cordura for durability. All our packs are designed to ride comfortably in your lumbar area, with the weight funneled directly to the waistbelt. This alleviates upper body fatigue and gives you a better range of motion.

Kifaru military backpack is probably the best military backpack so far. As per Mr. Smith, the President of Kifaru, Modular and Multifunctional is a slogan around here. As for packs, specifically, Kifaru insist on being the very best at providing these four functions: comfort, stability, versatility and durability.

Start from Mountainsmith brand, Mr. Smith has been in backpack business for 25 years. Teaming up with Mr. Mel Terkla, Kifaru launched their Military Gear Division in June of 2002.

I have been hearing good things about Kifaru backpacks for a long time. In 2005, we finally have a chance to check their products and we are very lucky meet Mr. Smith and Mel personally. These two guys are really backpack professionals.

I have seen many great packs in the past, e.g. LBT, Eagles, Gregory, and etc. These Kifaru packs rock! The packs have many add-on features and optional accessories which user can customize the pack for specific needs. To find out all the features, you really need to study the "thick" manual" before you can 100% understand and "correctly" use it. You may probably learn a lot and being inspired by reading the manual. Full of surprise indeed !

Design is great, and the material is super. All US mil-spec material, 1000 denier cordura, Drilex, ITW hardware, Coolmax, and etc. Workmanship is top of the line. Period.

From big rug to small bag, from simple to complicated design, I will say Kifaru has built the very best US military backpacks !
