WWII USMC Marine Corps M1943 Entrenching Tool, E-Tool or Shovel - Dated 1945

Original WWII USMC Marine Corps M1943 Entrenching Tool or E-tool Shovel. This shovel was issued ONLY to the USMC during WWII. It was a stop gap item that was issued until adaquate supplies of the Folding Shovel could be manufactured and distributed. 

This is basically a fixed spade type of shovel with a short straight handle. It was much stronger and easier to manufacturer than the earlier M1910 T-Handle Shovels.
